Anderson returns to squad for historic Rose Bowl clash

FAST bowler James Anderson has returned to the England squad for the third Test against Sri Lanka after recovering from injury.

The Lancashire paceman was ruled out of the drawn second Test after suffering from a side strain injury during the first Test in Cardiff which England dramatically won by an innings.

Anderson replaces Surrey man Jade Dernbach and is expected to take his place back in the starting eleven – meaning skipper Andrew Strauss and head coach Andy Flower face a tough decision to leave out either Stuart Broad, Chris Tremlett or Steven Finn.

The remainder of the squad is unchanged as England look to claim a 2 – 0 series win at Hampshire’s Rose Bowl Stadium, which is to host its first ever Test match on Thursday (June 16).
